The talented and award winning journalist and photographer Martin C. Barry. He always somehow manages to cover his stories “dressing” them with remarkable photos.

Martin has been a reporter at TLN since 2004. “I was working as a journalist at the time when I met Caroline Gardner at Concordia University where I was enrolled in the Journalism program. She told me an English paper in Laval was looking for people, so I called them up,” he said.

Working at TLN has been a nice experience for Martin. “Honestly, over the years I have worked at some of the worst places. TLN, in comparison, is wonderful. Guzmas has always been very fair with me. It’s been very, very good,” he said. Martin has also been freelancing at several newspapers across Montreal for years. “I was surprised to see a significant number of English-speaking people here. I had zero experience with Laval before. I find there is a big gap between both cities,” he noted. Martin lives in N.D.G and enjoys the chance to cover a new town. “It’s like discovering a new world,” he said.
